Another Wonderful Sunday

Today David and I will be attending church and then we will go over to Dad's house for a family dinner. Dad has requested I bring the Deviled Eggs and my Sister-In-Law has requested Seafood Salad.  I am happy to make both!  This will be our first family dinner since Mother passed away - so it will be a little different. We continue to adjust and we all seem to be much more aware of the importance of cherishing the memories and time we have with our loved ones!

Today is another set of reveals over at Page Plans.  I created the Card Sketch and Chris created the LO Sketch.  Here are my projects based on both of them.
You_make_me_smile_card_2
I really love Pink and Green and even added a little bling - now I have to figure out who to give it too.

This LO was created with photos from the 4th of July picnic we had with our daughter Tiel and her family.  I printed the photos first thing Saturday morning!  I love how the kids look and how happy they are.  There was a little water fight, a little swinging around of the kids and, lots of kisses!

The Red, White and Blue was perfect for our "All American Family". I used the new Scenic Route line - I'm pretty sure I will need to purchase a little bit more - LOL! I had no ideaAll_american_family there was so much more to this line. My LSS didn't carry it all.

I hope to have a new collage photo to post tomorrow - take care and have a wonderful day!

Missed Fireworks

Okay - I was so bummed - I fell asleep at 830 PM and missed the fireworks.  It's my own fault - I know the medicine I take for my legs can make me tired - I just didn't realize it would make me "CRASH"!  Oh well - there is always next year.  In the meantime - I did get some great photos at our picnic yesterday and I have created a mini collage - I hope you enjoy.  I also hope you realize - you will be seeing these photos again soon (I'll be scrapping away).

Christmas in July

I absolutely love Christmas in July.  I feel like it is a time to create Christmas lists, get a jump start on Christmas Cards and begin purchasing Christmas presents (yes I actually start Christmas shopping in July.  I also like to figure out how many "Twelve Days of Christmas" we are going to do.  Sometimes we do one, sometimes none and, and sometimes two or three.  I like being able to surprise a neighbor,a family from church or even a co-worker.  Here are some of the tags I use to leave with each days' goodies.

Img_1196 Img_1197 Img_1198 Img_1199 Img_1200 Img_1201

Sometimes I run out of ideas for a new set - so here is what I a proposing.  I would like to do a Christmas tag swap.  If you are interested please email me at leslica@live.com and I will let you know the details.  The swap will not be do until August 31st.  I would love the opportunity to exchange tags with you!!!

I also love to do the occasional bookmark.  I have several people who love to read on my Christmas list.  I like to give out gift cards for Christmas and I try to include a homemade bookmark.  Here is one I have done in the recent past:

So...I also need some new bookmark ideas and would like to host a bookmark swap.  Again, if you are interested, please email me at leslica@live.com and I will give you all the details.  This swap will also be do August 31st.  I hope to hear from you!

I will have a very late evening with work - I am trying to get enough done that I will not have to worry about work for 3 days!  I am also hoping to study my Photography for Dummies Book so I can get that great fireworks shot!  I really want some.  That's my goal - the perfect shot!  Wish me luck!!!

One last thing - a special thank you to Sabine who gave me this wonderful award: I  appreciate you thinking of me.  I  have to give this award to 7 people (which is always so hard).  I am going to have to think about this one and then I will postAward_2 later!

Page Plans Projects

I was able to take part of the day off yesterday to go help Dad.  We had to do all those things no one wants to do - which was place everything in his name and remove mother's name from all the wonderful things they have legally shared.   He did get a little tired towards the end of everything - but he was steadfast in our tasks.  I was so happy to hear him talk about the future - he even said he hopes the next five years don't go as quickly as the last five years (I agreed with him)!

Gail - if you are reading this - I want you to know I actually found the "original" koala bear pattern in Mother's things.  I am purchasing 2 different colors of gingham material to begin the chicken scratch on two quilts.  So....be ready to French Knot and quilt - you know I can't.  For those of you who might like to see what I am talking about - here it is! This is the last one Mother made before she passed away - it was made for my daughter, Brittanny's 1st child! Mother has been making these quilts since I had my first child, Tiel.  It has been a wonderful tradition and we have talked about not letting the tradition disappear.  We may have to tweak it to make it our own - but the legacy will continue!

Today - over at Page Plans we have a couple more Fourth of July reveals! As I have said before - it is one of my favorite Holidays.  Why? Because for years it was a double celebration.  My father was born on the 4th of July.  When I was growing up we would always go to the parade, have a picnic with family (all day) and watch the fireworks - I loved it.  My dad is o longer with us but, I'm sure he watches all those incredible fireworks from around the world - he has a perfect view now!

Here is a new LO (of my nieces from last year) and Card:

It is my goal to get a great fireworks picture this year!  If you have any ideas or input on how I can get that one great shot - please let me know!

I am ready to re-implement the contest:  Sorry it was sidetracked - but here we go.

So here is my July give-a-way: It is the BasicGrey magnetic mat!

Gearing Up for the Fourth

I was able to get a couple of things done this past weekend - all having to do with the 4th.  I will reveal a page and a card tomorrow - but here is a digi page I did using a great kit by: Bluetoillescrap - she did a series of 3 freebies and a set of elements!!!. The template is by Erica (unfortunately - I can't find my link)!

I absolutely adore my Grandson's Eyes - they are so expressive and you can just see how happy he is!!!  He loves to run, jump, play and he 100% - loves Hot Dogs!!!! What's more American than that?

Please stop by and check out the Page Plans blog tomorrow for a new card and LO by both myself and Chris.

I've gone Postal

Well, not literally - but boy was my postmaster surprised to see me today.  I mailed out over 27 envelopes/packages.  For those of you who participated in the International Card Swap - it has now been mailed.  Hopefully it will arrive in your boxes early next week (except Singapore, New Zealand, France and Denmark - then a couple of weeks).

I also mailed our several winner packages between my blog and Page Plans Blog.  Again, thanks to all of you for your patience and understanding with everything that has happened.

I had a wonderful surprise earlier this week.  I was at lunch with a couple of reps from work when I received a call from my little brother, Kevin.  He told me he was back in Salt Lake for a few days and would be returning to Reno later in the week.  I let him know I missed hi and would love to see him.  I told him I would talk to David and maybe we could drive down for the weekend.  He told me that would be nice but not push things, he knew I had had a pretty tough week.  I told him I would call him soon and let him know.  Well I continued on with my lunch meeting and within a short amount of time I look up and there was my brother and his wife - Sandra.  I was so surprised and excited - I started to cry.  I couldn't believe he was there!!!  How wonderful was that!  Needless to say - it made my week. He was only here for a short time - but it meant a great deal to me to see him!

Today - I spent a good part of my time over at my sweet Father-In-Laws house going through dresser drawers.  It is amazing the wonderful history that can be found in such a small space. As I sorted though things it gave him time to reminisce with me and share some amazing stories about certain photos or pieces of jewelry.  I am trying to write them down so when we distribute them to family, they will know how much they meant to both of them. I also found wonderful letters written to them by their grandchildren when they were serving missions (I will be returning them to the authors).  All of the Glovers should be expecting to see some wonderful mail and photos.  I'm sure they will bring back some special memories.  Just know they were all very cherished by Mother and Dad.

I am hoping to create this afternoon - I need to make quite a few Thank You Cards.  I am also hoping to scrapbook a couple of photos of our grandchildren.

I will re-start my contests in the next few days - I am still trying to get a few things sorted out!

Hugs to all!

Thank You

I cannot even begin to express my appreciation for all the thoughtful comments, cards and support we have received from everyone.  Your kind words really have helped us get through.

We laid our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to rest on Friday afternoon. She was surrounded by her family and her friends.  We created a memory board of wonderful photos and I will share a picture of it at a later time (I am not quite ready).  Her children and grandchildren arrived from Utah and Washington, and it was so wonderful to have them here.  It meant the world to Dad and to the Montana side of the family to have them here. For those of our family who could not be here due to international travel and other obligations, I hope you know you were in our thoughts and prayers!   I really wish we all lived a little closer to each other. Even though we are separated by miles - we are all tied together with a lot of love and I am truly grateful for our eternal family!

To my wonderful online friends - I am a little behind on some of my contests and projects - I hope you understand - it may take me awhile to get things sorted out.

God Bless to All

Update on My Mother-In-Law

This post is primarily to update friends and family who cannot be here with us at this time!  Thanks so much for your sweet comments and emails.  This is a very hard time for us all - but our faith sees us through.  We have been so blessed to have this incredible woman in our lives - she is as close to pure love as anyone can be.  We are each taking some time with her and are gathering around her preparing to say goodbye.  We are bringing Brittanny home tonight and Gail and Nancy (her daughters) are on their way.  Please pray that they all arrive safely and in time.

For those grandchildren who can't be here - please know that for the last two weeks she has talked about how much her family loves her and how much she loves them!!! She has always taken great joy in your accomplishments and shares family news with anyone who will listen!  What a great example she has been - and what wonderful memories we all have to cherish!
